Poet Laureate
For this project, we were asked to study a event in World War I from a specific country, write a poem and essay about that event, present about our event to the class, and produce an anthology of all of our poems and essays. We studied many different events as well as many different forms of poetry. Our poem had to include meter, form, and a rhyme scheme while our essays had to describe our event and why we wrote our poem the way we did. For our exhibition we organized, advertised, fundraised, and printed copies of our book for the book launch party.

Fundraising Team
We were split into different book launch teams and I was part of the fundraising team. I feel like I took charge in my group because I personally communicated with many different local businesses first, to get monetary donations, and then later for product donations for the silent auction. Over the few weeks we had to raise money and collect product, I brought in $600 from the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Rail Road as well as almost $600 in product donation. After I collected all the items, I put together the silent auction at the event and we made about $400 profit. My fundraising peers as well as Stephen and Ashley helped write the letters we sent out as well as thank you notes.
